We took a trip today to visit some cemeteries. This is Old Daniels Church in Eastman, GA. We visited my Grandfathers grave at the Bowen Cemetery (also in Eastman). From there we took a long haul to Sunbury GA to see the only thing left of Sunbury GA, the cemetery. Laws, Laws, everywhere...they were key to the history of Sunbury, Midway and bringing Sea Island Cotton to Georgia. The Midway Cemetery was LOCKED! LOCKED! I missed seeing more of my ancestors graves because they LOCKED the cemetery. Very aggravating, but given the history locked within I guess I can accept it.
